Early Works
Made in the period of 'XI komnat' self-organisation
is a collection of short works by the artist Anastasia Albokrinova, including her texts, visual, and mixed media pieces. Albanac is composed as a lightbox book, where pages of each section are kept in a separate case and can be accessed and displayed on the light panel in any order and combinations.

Since 2006 I've been involved in self-organised and artist-run spaces, that were squatting or cheap renting of locations around the city. The longest one was XI komnat (11 rooms) - a basement in city center, where a group of young designers, architects and artists held a work and exhibition venue for 3 years. The period of XI komnat was my first tryout as an exhibition organiser and a period of self-exploration as an artist.

Among the practices I've tried over these years were small and big-scale installations of cheap materials, collages, work with body and clothing, performance.
