Misplacement Manual is a series of space-related practices aimed for your body. By performing them individually or collectively, you can (re)claim your presence in an alien environment or better connect to a domestic space.
In a time when war is a daily reality, emigration is a forced choice for many, and separation is often a condition for survival, whether physical or emotional, the Misplacement Manual acts not as a cure, but as a way to gain agency and awareness of yourself in a small cubicle of planetary chaos called 'home'.
Misplacement Manual is for you, if you:
- have recently emigrated
- have moved into a new apartment
- have returned home after a long absence
- don't feel you belong to where you are
- feel stuck in one place
- want to make a change
- are sick of your environment
- are in a playful mood
Misplacement Manual was produced in a form of zine with instructions and empty sheets for individual fulfillment and as a set of 2 posters with visual documentation of practices performed by the artist. The presentation of the project took a form of a workshop at Footnote residency, where all the visitors could test some practices in relation to the spaces of Footnote apartment.
