Starting from the February 24th 2022 many plans for future exhibitions and collaborations, along with visions of the tasks and responcibilities of art institutions became alltogether a big question and a big pain.
In responce to the ambivalence and terror that each of us experiences day to day, we launched a project that gave space for the artists to speak out and bring to the gallery space the artworks that reflected their personal feeling of the moment, the historical moment of catastrophe.
The structure of the exhibition was built as a happening - everyone could bring an artwork and hang it on the wall and could put it down as soon as it didn't reflect the current moment for him/her.
The only two rules of the happening were:
1. To not exhibit the works that violate the laws of Russian federation, and
2. To try to establish a dialogue by placing your work in the proximity of another artists' work, looking for resemblance in form, mood or topic.
Thus, since the opening and 6 hours later all the walls were filled with art. And along the course of the exhibition the space only intencified.
Two artists chose the medium of performance - one «killed» her painting as it comprised the prohibited word ('Meta' is an extremist organisation in Russia), the other danced along Tchaikovsky ballet recalling the historical events of 1991.
