Hall of Newest Reality of Samara Region
Victoria Underground
october-november 2020
A big research initiated for this project questioned the notion of reality and presented it as a complex construct of overlaying narratives created by researchers, artists, folklorists, ufologists, etc. It focused on the narratives unfolding in local geography (Samara region) and brought together actors from various discilpines. The resulting exhibition grouped around several topics, concerning Theory, Phenomenas, Spaces, Others, Cults, (Un)Living.
One of the general challenges of this project was to shift the focus from contemporary art and place it in the bigger space of meanings and find common ground, no matter what the media, with other disciplines responsible for creating the complex picture of reality, be it meta- or mock-.
Thus, among the characters and topics of this project, were: travelling fires, mysterious mists, the undead, paleo-ufological gods, underwater treasures, portals, magnetic fields, aliens, mirages and time-space loops.
