80th anniversary of the 7th Symphony by Shostakovich
Shostakovich Opera Ballet, Samara
7th Symphony branding (outdoors)
The celebration of the 80th anniversary of the premiere of the 7th Symphony by Dmitry Shostakovich (that happened in 1942 in Samara, former Kuybyshev) comprised a series of events and artistic interventions into the building of the Opera & Ballet House, Samara, among which:
An exhibition in the main hall of Opera & Ballet House - the same hall where in 1942 Shostakovich was rehearsing the premiere of the symphony with the orchestra of Bolshoy Theatre evacuated in Kuibyshev.
Video-mapping on the main facade of the building.
Sound installation by Playtronica at the entrance to the Opera & Ballet House

My task as an invited artist was to create a visual identity that could be applied to different carriers (from media screens to concert booklets to souvenir hoodies) and develop a design for the indoor and outdoor exhibitions.
The indoor exhibition told the story of Dmitry Shostakovich life from the start of his career to completion and premiere of the 7th Symphony through the voices of musical instruments involved in the play. It consisted of a big platform where the exhibits were spread along the space and could be sound-activated through touch to the musicians' chairs and 3 stands with print and video materials split in chapters "Dmitry Shostakovich", "The Symphony", "The Victory of Art" together with 2 prologue and epilogue stands.
The outdoor design consisted of facade banners, info tablets and posters and a guideline for the videotaping team.
